The funny thing is we didn't make an online connection until well after I'd moved to Belfast., but Ashley and her family are actually based back in Portland, Oregon, where I spent about seven years before moving here. So it's really cool to have that connection and I'm hoping that next time we get to go home, I'll actually get to meet her in real life.

We all know I love Squarespace because it’s just so damn user-friendly! That said, there are a few settings that need shifted for nearly everyone I work with. The reasons I make these changes range from usability to design to search engine optimization, but ultimately they each help take your site up a notch.

The first three things I do when I begin a new Squarespace website is adjust the colors, fonts and upload a logo.

When everything is set to match the brand of the business from the start, it makes envisioning where you’ll place the content and how things will all look together way easier.

I know it sounds cliche, but growing up in a small town in Eastern Oregon (upper left USA), I never would have imagined that I would one day live on the other side of the world and have a fantastic business that allows me to help women grow and scale their own businesses by simplifying their customer experience with bespoke websites and streamlined systems.

I’m a firm believer that creating a system can be easy AND that doing so will save you hours of time and sanity. It can stop you from missing steps or dropping the ball and means you don’t have to keep everything swirling around in your head.

There’s been some big and exciting changes with the update, but there’s also some frustrating drawbacks.
