It was fantastic to speak with the Small Business Saturday’s Mat all about what we do at Calibrated Concepts and how we simplify businesses with the right tech, systems and websites!

Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down for a chat during my visit to Pendleton. We dived into the world of my business, Calibrated Concepts, where we help fellow business owners with a wide range of online services. That includes crafting websites from scratch, making existing websites even better, and implementing simple solutions that make running a business smoother, saving both time and money.

During our conversation, we also covered some really candid topics, from mental health and my passion for traveling to the work I love doing. There's a lot to unpack, and I think you'll find it quite interesting.

It probably won’t surprise you that my take on marketing is a bit different from other businesses.

A long time ago I decided to play to my strengths and to let my chatting, community building nature take the biggest chunk of my marketing “budget”. How that’s looked has changed over the years, but it’s served me well!

While I was a collegiate, I had the opportunity to lead the Greek Council and later be our chapter's archon. These roles provided me with experience in people and project management, goal setting, networking and more — skills that have been invaluable in running a small business.

9. Ellie McBride founder of Calibrated Concepts

Ellie, who is from the US, started out in 2017 with her business which specialises in designing websites for women entrepreneurs.

“When I arrived in Northern Ireland I had no contacts and little support to get my business up and running,” she explained.

Since starting out, I’ve grown my business to have supported over 100 clients and have designed over 50 websites.”

Ellie McBride, an American expat who made Belfast her home five years ago, has been named as one of the UK’s most inspirational and dynamic female entrepreneurs by the f:Entrepreneur ‘#ialso100’ campaign.
