Whew… So that’s what a whirlwind feels like!
It’s been a whole month since I took Calibrated Concepts to the next level by making it my full-time gig!
To be honest, it’s been so different than I had expected it to be. I expected that I’d struggle more to scale up and to bring in revenue. I thought I’d have more free time to build the foundations of my business. But I made the space to take on more clients and they came in waves! I’m beyond grateful! That said, I’ve been so busy that I’ve found making time to put work into my own business.
But I’m going to practice what I preach and so I have a 3 part plan to ensure my business grows the way I want it to.
Continue seeing my business coach who is pushing me to find additional avenues of revenue that aren’t fully linked to exchanging my time for hours.
I’ve gotten a lot more specific with my service-based offerings to ensure that I’m attracting the type of work I actually enjoy doing. I also created a spreadsheet to determine how much availability I have so I know if I can take on additional clients (or not).
I’ve hired help! That’s right this Virtual Assistant, just got herself a Virtual Assistant! Outsourcing makes the world go ‘round. His name is Hassan and I’ve worked with him on a few projects in the past and knew he’d be perfect for when my business needed help. I’m so excited to have a few extra hours to invest back into my business each week and to be able to help build someone else’s business up!
Wanna know what’s next for Calibrated Concepts?
So I’ve got some exciting stuff I’m tinkering with in hopes of building some great programs in the future. I really want to better serve solo-entrepreneurs by giving them the tools they need to grow and scale! I also want to build a platform to celebrate people doing things in a unique way, those skillfully running their businesses by marching to the beat of their own drum!
I’M GOING TO START...
by doing an Instagram TV series to help give practical tips and advice on saving time and energy in business! This will present productivity tactics, tools you can use in your business and more.
The first one is this Wednesday, morning at 10:30 AM. You can check it out here!
I’M HOPING TO EVOLVE THIS SERIES INTO A FEW INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS WITH MORE DETAILED STEPS.
If you think you’d like to join me to learn how to become an organised business badass, you can sign up for the waiting list here.
A bit of what else is going on in my life right now:
I’m loving...
Last night, my in-laws decided that our family dinner was going to be a little different than usual. See typically once or twice a month we drive out to their house in the country-side of Northern Ireland and have a nice roast-type dinner. But yesterday, they decided we were going to take their little boat out across the water to eat a dinner out in a picturesque little fishing village. The weather was perfect and it was such a great night out!
I'm exploring...
Video games! I’ve never really been a gamer. They weren’t allowed in our house when I was growing up so I haven’t had much exposure even. But we recently got Apple Arcade and I’ve been enjoying playing Lego Brawls & Jenny LaClue in my down time.
I'm complaining about...
Feeling a bit isolated! I’m such a social, extroverted person and working from home all the time has been tough on me. To solve the problem, I joined a co-working space in Belfast, just one day a week so I can get into town and actually have some human interaction. So far, it’s saving my husband from being completely tortured in having to entertain me every day when he gets home from work.
I'm resisting...
Change. I’m always a bit scared to try new things because, well... failure is scary. Mel Wiggins has been pushing me to face my fear and remember that chasing your dreams isn’t something that happens in the safe, comfortable place. As she puts it, growth often feels “stretchy”. So I’m putting myself out there.
