9. Ellie McBride founder of Calibrated Concepts
Ellie, who is from the US, started out in 2017 with her business which specialises in designing websites for women entrepreneurs.
“When I arrived in Northern Ireland I had no contacts and little support to get my business up and running,” she explained.
Since starting out in 2017, I’ve grown my business to have supported over 100 clients and have designed over 50 websites.”
In the long-term she hopes Calibrated Concepts can grow into a digital agency with a focus on created automated work-flows “by women, for women”.
And she has plenty of advice for anyone else contemplating entrepreneurship: “Just jump in. You can overthink it forever or feel like you have more to learn before getting started, but that cycle can go on endlessly. Find the most simple way to start and go for it.”
She thinks her youth has been an advantage: “My age has made it easier for me to understand and work with several SAAS (software as a service) tools that, in turn, make my clients’ lives way easier because they can use them without having to set them up from scratch or learn to integrate them together.”
