00:01 Hey, so today I want to talk to you about this very cool new thing from Floes called floes Checkout. A lot of my clients use Floes seamlessly with their Squarespace website, but I also use it and set it up for lots of my clients as well.
00:16 So I wanna talk to you about this. So first off, floes checkout is a way for you to be able to sell things natively integrated with your email list, and that is a beautiful thing.
00:29 Floes is known for being a beautiful and really easy to use email service when they're going to be bringing that same energy, that same expertise and that same ease of use to their checkout experience.
00:43 Now I wanna move myself up because I keep looking down at you. So first thing I wanna say is you can sell all kinds of stuff here.
00:53 So, and I'll show you exactly how that works in a moment. But before we get too far into it, I want to note that checkout is a separate price to emails.
01:03 So it's a separate product, they're integrated, but you pay for them separately or you can pay for a bundle together.
01:10 You can see right now they have a locked in bundle for $29 a month, which, and that's if you pay with the annual plans.
01:18 So it's like 2,290 dollars a year, and that is good for life and it's all so that price, once you are locked in is good for life.
01:30 But the sale for that ends on November 1st. So that's all getting that all out of the way now be, and that is all also here.
01:40 And if you use Flow Desk or thinking about it, I would highly recommend getting into this Facebook group. It's called Insiders and it is pretty much a really, really good resource hub for tech support for how does this thing work for like, how do I do this thing?
02:02 What are your thoughts about this? Et cetera, et cetera. So they explain this whole thing here too. It does your sales page, it does your checkout, and it does your delivery of whatever it is that you're selling.
02:13 So let's get into that. So let's go straight in. And I am in checkouts here, and I supposed to plan around with this one earlier, but let's start from the very, very start.
02:27 So if you were to click that, you can see they have 'em set up already, predesigned for you, for digital products.
02:39 And so, and then that, obviously you have to think about this in advance because the delivery will matter. What, what you're delivering will matter for how this is set up.
02:49 So they've got two templates set up for selling digital products. They have one for education, so this might be courses and things like that.
02:58 They have template for selling services. So that would be maybe you sell a v i p day or maybe you sell a coaching package and it all gets through here.
03:12 You, they have one for a freebie. So obviously this is a free product. And then they have one that is checkout only.
03:19 So maybe you have your sales page elsewhere, but you wanna start taking your payments and doing your upselling and everything through flow desk.
03:27 So you have that option too. If you already have spent all of your time building a sales page somewhere, but you maybe aren't thrilled with a checkout experience, the ability to upsell, the ability to provide that really streamlined approach for your clients.
03:41 So let's go ahead and just take a look. I'm gonna digital product for this particular video knowing that it will have probably the most of these features tacked on.
03:55 And if you and that for the most part, most of the setup will be identical for these. So let's go ahead.
04:04 I have, like I said, already done the food styling one, but let's do another one. And I'm gonna show you how to customize this and how to set it up.
04:11 So you can see, it shows you the preview for the sales page, the checkout page, and the delivery page. And, and so that's what's really nice about this is it takes your sales page, which you might have on your website but if you don't have a website or if your website isn't really that set up for the type of selling you want to do, then this is a really good option.
04:37 Also it gives you that delivery page. It's another page on your site or your email that you maybe not need to make.
04:44 So let's go ahead and customize this. All right, so first things first, Like you would probably obviously spend quite a lot of time, not a lot of time cuz Floes is good this way, but time upfront, putting this all in your branding colors and fonts, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
05:02 Unfortunately, like you can't, there's no way to just like for the whole page to change all the colors yet. It's one of the bans of my existence.
05:16 But the good news is Floes is really good for letting you duplicate things. So I'm not a hundred percent sure we can duplicate these, but I can give you that answer right now.
05:25 Yes, you can duplicate these. So once you get one that is fully in your brand, you can duplicate it and so you don't have to keep rebranding and rebranding and rebranding one.
05:36 So I'm just going to show you, keep doing this. I'm just gonna pop in some images and just make this look really on brand for me.
05:44 So pick a nice horizontal photo. So many of these are vertical and you can like, like always in a, you can use Unsplash or Giffy here, you can decide if you want it to have a title over it.
06:04 Oh, this is all part of the image here that's interesting. Paragraph button. So this is all one part of the block.
06:11 And then the image itself, you have a little bit of control over as far as how zoomed in it is the overlay.
06:20 So I could say I want the overlay to be white and I want that to be, and then, you know, it makes it a little bit different vibe.
06:29 So you have that. And this is, and so those works the same way that a lot of website builders work these days.
06:35 You can add a new block. They've got all these fun layouts for you. FAQs, this is a lot honestly like Squarespace.
06:45 You have headers, tech sections, image sections, gallery sections. So maybe you're selling something that's highly visual like presets for Photoshop or something like that.
06:59 There's the word I was looking for. So they've got all these nice things for you. That's gonna be a gallery, that's like a grid.
07:07 You've got lists. So this is where you might list your features or the benefits, things like that. And they've got all these beautifully designed layouts.
07:19 Adding a video, adding pricing, and adding testimonials so you can, it already gives you a really good layout to start with, but if there's anything that you wanna add, like you can add all that.
07:32 So, and the other thing is like, this is quite a long sales page. Now it depends on what you're selling.
07:37 Sometimes you need a long sales page, but you might not need all of this, right? So you can remove blocks as well.
07:45 So that's really nice. You can literally just bend the whole block and like this, you can also similar, this is a lot like Scor Spaces editor.
07:54 You can move them up and down so you can decide where it sits on the page. You can duplicate entire blocks and you can change the block settings.
08:03 So that for lines, background, color, all these things. And again, all the settings on these blocks will be slightly different based on the type of block you selected.
08:12 So if you selected, like this one is obviously one of these heading blocks, but if you were to have select a pricing block, it will have different settings than the heading block.
08:26 And you can toggle things off and on, change the background color, you can do all this thing. So I'm not getting it too deep into the customizing this because it's actually a pretty involved process.
08:38 But so what I would do, like this is similar in my website design world, is sketch out all the content, write out everything you need to go on that sales page and then go ahead, pop in the content, make it look really pretty and that kind of thing.
08:52 So it's all very, that's what what I would do. And once you have the content, it's a lot easier to design around.
08:59 But this is really nice similar to a lot of other things flotus does is that they've given you a really good structure and a really good template.
09:07 So if you're not somebody who's ever designed sales page before, you know what you're gonna need on that sales page.
09:15 Same like they do with their email workflows and their, their email templates is they give you a good structure and some good copy to get going.
09:26 And so if you're not familiar with this, if it's your first product, you've got a lot to go on here.
09:31 All right? So once you do that and you can design, you need to design all three of these, right? So we're gonna go ahead and, you know, we have got the, this is the upsell.
09:43 So you have to design everything in these three pages. And again, it's the same type of thing. So I want this background color, I wanna make it burgundy.
09:56 You would take pretty much everything in my world, make it burgundy. I would need to change the fonts as well in my world.
10:03 If you use rounded buttons, you would change all of that. I don't, I use square buttons in my branding and now my website, but everything should be as branded as possible for you.
10:15 Be really in line with how you do things, right? So go through brand everything on all three of these pages.
10:24 Checkout is really limited branding options and that's okay. And then you wanna go through and do set up, and this is the important bit, right?
10:33 This is where you say, okay, this is the currency. Writing sets are gdp. Knowing that I live in the uk in Northern Ireland.
10:42 And I'm assuming I could change that in my settings cuz I actually do almost all of my pricing in US dollars.
10:48 So I'll take a look into that. But then you would say, Okay, well this is a project. Say I'm selling a course and I'm selling this course for 275.
11:00 And you can say, Well actually it's on sale and this discounted price is 200, right? Or you can make it free.
11:11 Then you can upload an image for this product. You can title it to website workshop. I can you provide a short description of what it is and, and there's your product set up and it will automatically plug that in in various points across these pages.
11:38 Bonus offer. So if I have an upsell, so maybe in my world it would probably be Power, it would be a power hour with me, right?
11:55 And then I would write some nice copy about why they should, why that's important and how that's gonna impact their work and make their website even better, Blah blah, blah, blah, blah.
12:05 It interestingly doesn't yet have your automatic colors here that you have saved in Flow Desk. So that's something to note, but I happen to, as a designer, have mine memorized.
12:15 But pulling from Flow Desk, or sorry, from Canada or wherever you keep them, then upload another image for this. Obviously as this is a power hour with me, I would probably use a photo of me and I would want it to be, I don't know, one of the ones where I'm sitting with my laptop.
12:33 So got quite a lot of images, I really have too many images. <laugh> no, there's no such thing in business as having too many images.
12:47 But obviously this is not a really aligned, like I would need a horizontal one probably for this. So there are some limits to things right now.
12:56 All right, So then you're gonna wanna add contact information. So this is gonna add, invite them to sign up for your newsletter when they buy your product.
13:05 So anything that you want from them. And this isn't opt in, right? So, and you want to know what segment they'll go to if they buy this.
13:14 So I'm gonna say newsletter, but it could be a specific segment, maybe it's also you know, summer workshop, if they paid for that workshop.
13:25 Then product segment. So ah, that's the optin segment, then the product segment. So you would want that, that's where it would be summer workshop.
13:33 So learning here as a go a little bit and then an upsell segment. So if there's another segment for that upsell, the Power Hour, you would wanna create one of those as well.
13:46 And it allows you to have a lot of control over exactly where these people fit your list and how you can sell to them or communicate with them or bring them into your community further going forward.
13:57 So I'm not gonna bother with that one yet. And then you've got, you can put your testimonial in, put an image of whoever it is that is saying the lovely things about you.
14:10 I don't really have photos that I'm gonna use for this example, but you don't even have to put a picture of a person.
14:17 Like it could just be a stock photo if need be, but just, it makes it feel like it's coming more from a person.
14:23 If you have some imagery around it as usual you can zoom in and such. And then you can set up discount codes.
14:30 This is a really important feature. So maybe you have some beta testers or maybe you are offering some sort of promo because you're doing a talk at an event and you're going offer everybody who listen to that talk a certain discount code for your product.
14:44 So you can create those here, go to create, and maybe it's like, for my power hours, my clients get client power hour discount and maybe I call that clients only and they get a certain percent off so they get 25% off or they get, you know, 10 pounds off or whatever it is.
15:12 And then you can save that and that is everything that is. So that is everything and it looks like, look at this, it saves as you go along.
15:20 So that is pretty much, oh, saved everything except for my color here. So, so all right. And now you can see in various places here it's updated that there's my bonus offer on the checkout page.
15:38 It's updated my photos here it is updated, the pricing, it is updated. Probably not a whole lot on this page, but you can, you know, you'll use a lot, probably the same images and things around there.
15:53 And then delivery, it's updated, the price, et cetera, et cetera here as well. So, and then when you're, when you get to this page, obviously in your sales page, you're gonna think about what the title is and why they should buy it and how it's gonna impact their life.
16:08 And you're gonna use great testimonials and the benefits of everything. But when you get to delivery, this is where you actually deliver the thing.
16:15 So it gives them a receipt and then it, you tell them what comes next. You can say, yeah, go to a Facebook group if that's relevant, go to however they want it to be.
16:30 You're gonna add images if ne if you would like, and then you are, but you can say, I don't want an image.
16:36 Okay, here's the things you're gonna get. Download it. And then you're going on that button to upload a file link.
16:45 So somewhere that they can download that from. It could be a Google Drive link, Dropbox wherever you're keeping it. And you have as many of these as, you know, maybe this is, this is a bundle, so there's clearly selling, giving them several things, but you maybe don't have that many things, right?
17:02 You don't have to have every single one of these. And this is the bonus offer. So this is the main offer download, this is the upsell and this is the bonus offer, which seems, and you, and that's pretty cool.
17:19 So I'm just looking at this and you can, you can tuggle some of these off and on. So, right, So you've got, you need to probably have the download if you're, because this is what this is.
17:30 You might not have instructions, you might not have a, your logo at the top but you probably would. And then you would have, if you ha don't have an upsell, maybe you talk about that off.
17:42 If you don't have a bonus offer, which you might not, it's really easy to talk about that off here. So I was kind of looking here, not natively, I was trying to find an X to delete it, but it's not, they're all a part of this one block.
17:53 So when you're finally done and you've got everything branded and you all your copy in, all you do is publish and you can connect with strip, might a in a different location, different outfit.
18:11 It's because I really found a weird thing about Squarespace checkout, or sorry, flow checkout. And that is, you cannot connect it to your existing strip account.
18:24 And that's, in a way it will connect to your existing strip account, but you have to create a stripe express account as well.
18:34 You can't just use it as your, in your main one. And according to I did some digging talked to customer support, both with Stripe, Andes, and according to Stripe, there's no need for users to need an express account if they have a full account.
18:49 But Floes experience put you through the process of creating an A and Express account. Anyway, from what I can tell, you can toggle back and forth in your strip account between your like checkout express account and your main one, I yet to see if your analytics and your and such well in all be in the same dashboard.
19:12 I would guess not. So that's something to be aware of as well. So I did manage to get my Stripe account connected, but like I said, it's Stripe Express, it's slightly different.
19:21 Had to refill in a bunch of information, verify my id, again, all the things that I kind of had to do when I set up my initial Stripe account.
19:30 And yeah, I just, I paused, created this video while I kind of sort that out to see how that full experience went and to talk to tech support and make sure I was giving you guys the right information.
19:42 So once you get your Stripe account created and you can edit your terms and conditions, they have some standard ones here for you.
19:50 You can update these as needed. Obviously legalities are different in every country, so make sure that these are good wherever you are.
20:02 Most countries these days have really good policy generators. So I think the US is really good with Termly. And the UK I usually would recommend coffee.
20:15 That's case. And there's lots and lots of others. If you're based somewhere else, just take a look. All right, so back checkouts.
20:28 So finished this one. I've up and did a little bit more branding since I had the time. And so in here you can now see that we've got a full checkout page, basically the one we created and I've done a few little tweaks to it.
20:43 And then you've got what this is gonna look like for people to sign up to, to buy the thing, pay the upsell, testimonial, all the things we've put in, right?
20:54 And then in delivery, we are gonna have, that's a, that's an image, right? So that's not text, which you could probably change.
21:04 But I'm gonna actually get rid of that and put some something that actually fits my brand, right? Just lots of little fun things.
21:12 So I'm gonna go ahead and add my white version of my logo and just pop that in there. And then you can see this is all templated.
21:23 This is what they put in for the most part. I didn't really take the time to put all of these into Burgundy, but I could have that would have further branded this experience, right to my and you every single thing and make it for your community as we discussed.
21:45 Can these you can flip them, you can do anything you want with, These are pretty customizable. And there's all these different sections per page.
21:55 So you can see on the page, you've got logos, instructions, download, upsell, and bonus offer. And you can toggle each of these things off and on and ahead at the settings for each of these different sections.
22:07 You can do that here. So flipping them, deciding if there's an image or not. Order details, colors, everything is fairly customizable and really, really easy to make pretty.
22:18 Okay, so final thing is, so when you get done customizing every single one of these three pages and all the content within them and only you can't fully white label and you know, look, these are Burgundy pages.
22:35 They're all really on brand for can't do checkout beta, so is and Customiz in the, when all you, and then you have a link and you can copy that link and I'm gonna paste it here.
22:54 And you have that link and it's what you would put anywhere to what you might put into your link of bio page.
23:01 It might be where you put somewhere, link somewhere to your website. So you have this a big button that says Buy this thing and it links to here.
23:11 It's where, where you're gonna put anything. And so when people click any of these calls to action, it'll take them to the next page.
23:17 They will purchase the product. If there's a discount code like we created, they'll put that in and they can add their bonus, your bonus offer to the order and pay for everything.
23:28 So it's gonna be really, really easy for them to buy your, buy your thing. So it's beautifully designed, very functional, especially for a beta.
23:38 I cannot wait to see how this grows, but mindful that this is not a free product. It's not included Ines emails.
23:49 It's a separate product. So I will give you a discount code I'll give you my affiliate link. You do not have to use a little bit off.
23:59 And setting this up. And if you purchase the email checkout bundle between now and November 1st you will get that for $29 a month for life, which considering I, I was locked in for the beta pricing for the emails, and that was $19 a month for life.
24:18 So for an extra $10, you're getting a essentially mini websites that you can sell anything, memberships subscriptions, courses, like anything you can imagine your free these all for a really, really good price.
24:34 Obviously I'm a big proponent for having a website as well, but if this is, if you do not have one yet, this is gonna be a game changer for you.
24:41 So alright, if you have any questions, pop 'em in the comments, I'll do my best to answer them.
