Squarespace's Navigation Keeps Changing. Here's a hack to find what you're looking for!
In this super quick video, I share my favorite Squarespace expert trick to help you easily find features after the never-ending navigation updates.

0:20 Today, I want to talk to you about where the hell Squarespace keeps putting Thanks. So I've been working with Squarespace website design for years now, and since they came out with 7.1, it seems like every few months they move things around on us.
0:37 They've just done it again, and so I want to show you my little Squarespace designer trick so you can find anything you're looking for and not necessarily know, have to know exactly where they've tucked it away.
0:50 So let's hop over. So, here we are in MySquareSpace website, for a little while now they've been working on with a lot of these sub things under website, pages, styles, assets.
1:04 So that's, you know, these submenus, if you were to go to products and services, you'd see all those, but if I open that up, you'll see my, the people I have worked with, you can also get to content and memberships and there's some seller presented that and those kinds of things.
1:20 okay. So what I want to show you is you can also go under marketing and there's So. Things like you can look around and try and find the things you're looking for, but sometimes you're like, why are like, for me, I'm always like, where the heck have they moved things like customer notifications to update
1:37 the emails you send when people buy from you or where have they moved the four or four page or, just little things that we do and not in the sites all the time.
1:46 So what I do is if you just hit the forward slash button, it brings up a search. And that is my go to tip over here.
1:54 Slash. And if I can't find customer notifications, there it is. And so you kind of have to learn what things note to know what things are called, but you can see that even though I put custom, it knew it searches the sub thing.
2:05 So custom for a four page, that was an option too. So you don't have to know things exactly, but you do need to know what you're looking for.
2:12 So I was able to, let's go, for example, to one of the things I'm always having to put in here is customers.
2:18 Customer notifications, because I never know where to put that lately. And then I can go in and edit the styles for me or my client and make sure that it looks nice and has everything they need.
2:28 Or if I want to update a specific one, I can go into, and services and maybe I want to update the one for digital downloads and make sure, cause that's what I do in my business and really provide them with step by step.
2:45 And so you can customize it. You can each of these under that category. Or let's say, what's another tricksy thing that sometimes I can't find?
2:54 sometimes I cannot find the settings for how to update a 404 page. they move around or sometimes I'm wanting to find a promotional pop-up or the announcement bar, which they move around.
3:04 they've just moved like discount codes from a section that had said like something called selling to now on sale under marketing.
3:17 So like you have to, they just move things around. So if I want to find a 404 page and how to edit that, I can go to the 404 settings and update, pick which page I want it to be.
3:27 So if I'm looking for those discount codes, I can go forward slash slash, over slash, dot. Discount and it will show up there.
3:37 And it's funny, it's showing them three times. It's all going to take you, I think, pretty much to the same place.
3:43 that one just pops it up immediately. It created a new one. So this takes me to the discounts I already have.
3:48 That one took me directly to add a discount. so there we go. That's how it is. That's my favorite trick.
