Squarespace’s new Fluid Engine — What you need to know
Squarespace just dropped a big big change.
Hey, I'm coming at you today with some major Squarespace changes that are rolling out. Now, before we get into this, if you are on the older version of Squarespace. So if you made your website more than about two and a half years ago, these do not apply to you so you can breathe, you can go elsewhere and come back to this if you decide you wanna start a newer version of Squarespace website.
But if you are on Squarespace 7.1, this will impact you.
So as of today, Squarespace is rolling out over the next week, what they are calling the Fluid Engine. And so this is going to drastically change the way that we design in Squarespace. I'm gonna walk you through it in a second, but I wanted to first tell you it's not going to break your existing site. It's not going to automatically force all your content into the Fluid Engine — predesigned things you've already created, will remain in the classic editor. But any new sections you create will be in now with Fluid Engine — they're forcing the change quickly.
There's no way to not create them, but there is a tiny workaround that I'll show you.
