Sliding into Home Base

You need a website to be a home for all your work

Congratulations — you’ve grown to the point that you know you need a single place for all of your ideas, resources and community connection points to live!

You’ve created so many great things. Wouldn’t it feel great to be able to point people to one freakin’ fantastic place to find them all? This place is called your website! It should be your home base for creating consistent messaging, having people book in with you, and selling your offers. I recommend getting started with Squarespace, because the community and customer support around this easy to use website designer is out of this world!

I'm Ellie,

your new systems obsessed friend & here’s my recommended next steps for your business:

  1. Start writing your website words

Remember that all your writing should be focused on your customer, you are not the hero of the story, they are. You are there to help guide them to the solution

  2. Put together a folder that has all your branding elements

Fonts, colors, logos, graphics, tag lines, icons, etc. If you’re just getting started, I recommend using Coolors.co and Canva.com to get a basic DIY brand designed. But take it from me, work with an experienced brand designer when you can for a timeless brand that will communicate exactly what you want it to to your community.

  3. Take loads of fantastic photos

Of you, your team, your products and services, your workplace, etc. Put these in a folder along with your branding elements.

  4. Spend some time looking through Pinterest for some inspiration

Note what draws you to specific designs, what features you love and what about a website really turns you off.

  5. Take some time to get strategic
What’s the number one thing you want your website to accomplish? How are you going to get people to do that? What features, pages and integrations do you need?

  6. Don’t forget the legalities
If you or your website visitors are in the EU or UK you’re legally required to have a privacy policy. Other policies you might need include:

  • Terms & Conditions

  • Shipping

  • Returns

  • Diversity & Inclusion

  • Data Protection

  • Cookie
